On View: August 3 – August 27, 2016
Opening Reception: Wednesday, August 3rd, 5pm – 8pm
We are pleased to present a solo show of seventeen new works by Seattle artist, Chuck Lopez. These dynamic vessels are rooted in geometry and created through hot sculpting murrini tiles. As his third solo exhibition at Vetri, Lopez continues his exploration of process, material, and abstract design in an effort to uncover personal connections from the viewer.
Chuck Lopez has worked in glass for the pst 27 years. An active member of Seattle’s art community, he is the Glass Studio Technician at Pratt Fine Arts Center. Lopez has a long-standing association with Pilchuck Glass School as a student, instructor, Artist in Residence, and Auction Centerpiece Designer. He has been awarded grants from Artist Trust and Wheaton Arts. His work is exhibited internationally, was included in a survey exhibition at Tacoma Art Museum, and published in New Glass Review, Glass Art Society Journal, and Glass Art Magazine.
Please join us from 5pm – 8pm on Wednesday, August 3rd, for the debut of this special exhibition, cold beer and light bites, and mingling with the artist.
