Vetri presents Glasscape, a two-person exhibition of new works in glass by Andi Kovel and Justin Parker, opening Saturday, October 4, 2025, 3–5pm. Longtime collaborators and co-founders of Esque Studio, Kovel and Parker bring distinct yet complementary approaches to glass, extending a decades-long dialogue rooted in experimentation, technical mastery, and conceptual inquiry.
Kovel’s new sculptures reimagine landscape through glass forms that suggest shifting horizons, geological strata, and symbolic terrains. Using transparency, color, and layered construction, her works position landscape as dynamic and transformative. Alongside Kovel, Parker introduces glass panels designed to harness and project light. Using advanced Venetian techniques, these works function as both precise objects and instruments of illumination, engaging viewers in shifting fields of reflection and shadow. Together, their work highlights the versatility of glass in sculptural form and as a medium of light.
Andi Kovel has received international recognition, including Time Magazine’s Design 100 and Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year. She was invited to the 2024 Venice Biennale and has collaborated with Ralph Lauren and Nike. Kovel also appeared on Netflix’s Blown Away.
Justin Parker has worked with glass for more than 30 years. He studied at Pilchuck, trained with master artists Pino Signoretto and Petr Novotny, and has taught at Parsons, NYU, and the Cooper Union. A co-founder of Esque Studio, he now leads Justin Parker Glass in Portland, Oregon.
