Vetri is excited to highlight an exhibition this August featuring artists who defy conventional perceptions of glass, pushing boundaries and challenging norms. This exhibition also explores the evolving landscape of glassmaking, highlighting the transformative impact of new technologies on the technical aspects of the craft. Artists featured in this exhibition are F5 Collective, Joe Hobbs, Anna Mlasowsky, and Hoseok Youn.
F5 Collective, a visionary group of artists, employs cutting-edge technologies such as 3D-printed clay, laser-cut wood, and CNC-milled graphite to manipulate molten glass. One highlight of this exhibition is an architectural-scale glass wall meticulously crafted by F5 Collective during their explorative residency at Pilchuck Glass School.
Joe Hobbs unveils his latest series of exquisite blown glass vessels utilizing a decal technique to transfer his unique glass drawings onto his blown glass forms. Pilchuck Glass School recognized his exceptional use of this technique by awarding him the 2022 Innovation Award.
Anna Mlasowsky presents “Table 8,” a vibrant piece of blown and kilnworked glass that she seals with a thin diachronic film. This table reflects light from various angles, creating a mesmerizing op-art effect. Additionally, Mlasowsky presents a unique composition featuring hydro-cal cast arms mounted on bulletproof rhino glass vessels, pushing the boundaries of her artistic expression.
We invite you to visit the gallery during August to experience this exceptional collection of works that push the boundaries of glass in new and innovative ways.
