Aimee Sones
Aimee Sones was born and raised in southern California, lived in Ohio and loves to travel. As a result of her travels, she began to compare the visual landscapes and became fascinated by cell phone towers that resemble palm or pine trees, freeways and electrical towers. Sones’s immense interest in maps, demographic statistics, geography and infrastructural growth has led to her studies in rapid prototyping and geomodeling. Along the way, she earned an MA in Crafts with a concentration in Jewelry/Metals at California State University, Fullerton and an MFA in Glass at Ohio State University. Aimee Sones has exhibited nationally and internationally, received numerous scholarships and awards, including being a Bullseye emerge 2010 finalist and a Greater Columbus Arts Council Grant.
