Cole Johnson

For nearly 14 years, North Carolina based glass artist Cole Johnson has created his work using respect for tradition, excellence in craftsmanship, and attention to detail. After discovering glassblowing in early 2013, Cole quickly decided to dedicate his career to the craft. Over the next few years, Johnson filled his time working and attending craft schools until deciding to move across the globe. He spent the next two years as a glass Associate at the JamFactory in Adelaide, Australia. At the Jam, Johnson gained and refined his skillset and started to find his own voice within the glass medium. In 2017, with his new-found technique and confidence, Johnson moved back to where he first fell in love with the craft, settling in the mountains of Sylva, NC. It’s there, that Johnson continues his artistic practice, working with his peers, and traveling between craft schools assisting various artists such as Nancy Callan, Mel Douglass, and Granite Calimpong.
