Vetri is pleased to present Pinch, Throw, & Roll, a group exhibition featuring the work of four artists working in clay: Myra Kaha, Yoonjee Kwak, Norleen Nosri, and Tzyy Yi Young. Emphasizing the architectural, narrative, and human characteristics of the vessel, each of the four women artists included in this exhibition draw deep reference from their personal histories and cultural experiences. American, Korean, Malaysian, and Chinese respectively, Kaha, Kwak, Nosri, and Young use clay as a primary medium to explore the metaphoric possibilities of a container; with forms ranging from silos to boats to bottles and jars, these four artists reframe everyday, utilitarian objects. Their unique interpretation of traditional ceramic technique paired with their distinctly personal relationship to the forms they shape elevates these vessels from familiar designs to compelling sculpture.
