Nancy Stentz
Nancy Stentz is an artist whose work bridges her background in graphic and letterform design and her evolution into abstract art. After two decades in Seattle as a designer and educator—teaching at the Art Institute of Seattle and Cornish College of the Arts—she shifted her focus in 2002 to creating a personal body of work rooted in balance, rhythm, and improvisation. Her first exhibition was at Fetherston Gallery in Seattle, and her art, incorporating mixed media, digital layering, and printmaking, has since been shown in galleries throughout the Northwest.
Nancy Stentz and her husband David live on Whidbey Island where they built their sculptural home with metalworking shop and art studio. Their creative environment reflects the spirit of experimentation and aesthetic refinement that informs her practice.
