With their abstract arrangements of imagery and dramatic color contrasts, Doug Randall’s body of work is intended to take the viewed on a journey. Combining geometric patterns, photography, and expressive doodles, his basket sculptures, abstract wall panels, and curved gondolas act as scrapbooks of his travels and a window into his imagination.
One of the first artists to show at Vetri, and a mainstay in the Pacific Northwest art and craft scene, Randall continues to present us with luminous kiln formed glass sculpture. Randall studied with many of the pioneers of kiln formed glass and worked on the research team at Portland’s Bullseye Glass Co. during its formative years. He studied at Oregon State University, California State University-Chico, and Pilchuck Glass School. Watch his 2008 feature on Oregon Art Beat via PBS. His work is collected internationally.
